Globalization

School of Christian Mission on Saturday, May 3 2008

Globalization—What is it? What do I need to know about it? Like it or not, YOU are a part of globalization. As consumers in our day-to-day lives, the source of products, the workers growing or assembling them and the means of getting them to you, is all interconnected and affects how we live and work.

Sign up today for the one-day School of Christian Mission Class with Jim McPhee, study leader on Saturday, May 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Trinity Parish House in the Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting grounds.

Schools of Christian Mission are an educational experience for those wishing to expand their concepts of mission in today’s world. They are held every year, all across the United States, and usually involve two to three classes over a period of three to four days. Curriculum for these schools is developed through the Women’s Division of the United Methodist Global Ministries with focus on social issues, actions and justice. This year, for the first time, Martha’s Vineyard has been chosen for a special event. This will also be the last time the Globalization:  Its Impact on Ours Lives course will be offered.

The Rev. James T. McPhee, a native of Bath, Maine. Rev. McPhee is a graduate of George Washington University with focus studies in government and economics and is also a graduate of The Theological School at Drew University. Currently he serves as Director of Connectional Ministries for the N. E. United Methodist Conference and serves as Assistant to Bishop Weaver.
